Course Description |
Graduates from the Canadian Business College Community Service Worker program will be prepared to involve themselves in activity where they can apply their academic skills with their genuine desire to help others. Graduates of the program will be active in dealing with individuals in periods of hardship in areas which often present challenges. It requires dedication combined with knowledge, sensitivity and flexibility to deal with the wide range of individuals and situations the worker will face.
People working in this field make use of various skills including the ability to effectively communicate with clients and other involved parties. Strong needs assessment and investigative skills are important elements as well as organizational and administrative abilities. Community Service Workers can be expected to interview clients to obtain case histories, assess situations, sort out options and be prepared to develop action plans including directing those in need to the appropriate agency.
