General Admission

The general requirements to apply for programs:
You should be over 18 years of age
OSSD or equivalent education
Mature Student Status with equivalent assessment and interview
Other prerequisites specific to the program you are applying for will be required

Assessment test and Interview

Please contact us to book an appointment for your assessment and interview (they are free of charge). It takes about one hour to go through the assessment process and half to one hour to go through the interview, so set aside two hours of your time for the entire process.

Interest Free Payment Plan

Canadian Business College Diploma program tuition(s) can be paid in monthly installments. We require an deposit 20% of the tuition fee and the balance may be paid by issuing postdated cheques or preauthorized credit card payments.

Line of Credit from your financial Institution

CBC students can apply for private student loans from any financial Institution. To apply contact the school and arrange to meet with the Financial Aid officer

Sponsorship and Grants

The following organisations may provide assistance or funding for career training to qualified applicants

  • Provincial Government via student loan program’s

  • Taxpayers can withdraw funds from their RRSP’s to pay for their own education or spouse’s education

  • Ontario Works for Social Service/Welfare recipients
  • Ontario Disability Support Program
  • Private Insurance Companies
  • Private Corporations

What is Second Career?

Second Career may provide Ontario laid-off workers with

  • skills training to help them find jobs in high-demand occupations in Ontario
  • financial support

Second Career provides laid-off workers with

  • skills training to help them find jobs in high-demand occupations in Ontario
  • financial support

Second Career is a cost-sharing grant provided on the basis of need, so you may be asked to contribute what you can to your training or education.

Second Career provides for

  • tuition
  • books
  • other instruction costs such as manuals or workbooks
  • transportation
  • a basic living allowance

Additional support may be available to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, dependent care, costs of living away from home and academic upgrading.

Potential applicants should also visit the Canadian Business College financial aid office to discuss alternate funding options, including OSAP.  

How much aid can I get from OSAP?

As a qualified student at Canadian Business College, you may apply to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) for financial assistance. In order to apply for financial aid, you must be a Canadian citizen, hold permanent resident status or hold protected person status. Assistance is awarded in the form of loans funded by the Federal and Provincial Governments, Special Bursaries and Child Care Bursaries. The Financial Aid Office also administers the loan. Further information and on-line application forms are available from the Financial Aid Office at each campus.

The maximum amount of aid you can get from OSAP depends on the type and location of your school and whether you are single, married, or a sole support parent. For the 2011-2012 academic year, the maximum amount of aid available if you are a full time student is shown in the table below:

Be prepared and bring with you

  • Official Proof of I.d. such as Canadian Citizenship Card or Landed Immigration Papers with Passport
  • Driver’s License or other official document with proof of Age & Photo
  • Marriage Certificate if applicable (needed if you apply for a Student loan)
  • Divorce/Separation Papers if applicable (needed if you apply for a Student loan)
  • High School or Postsecondary Diploma and all your educational Diploma’s, Degree’s, Transcripts
  • Your recent Pay-Stub (needed if you apply for a student loan)
  • Low Income Letter /Monthly Budget (If annual income is less than $6200.00)
  • MTCU Letter (EI Recipients Only)
  • Welfare Stub (Social Assistance Recipients Only)
  • $10.00 Cheque or Money Order payable to the Minister of Finance (needed if you apply for a Student loan)
  • $500.00 Registration Fee (Non-refundable)
  • A copy of your resume
