The Canadian Business College has won the Consumer's Choice Awards for six consecutive years. Quite an honour for a college that has only been around since 1992, and one that the president Mazher Jaffery and his staff work hard to uphold. The college offers 10 diploma programs in three fields of study: business, technology and health care. All diploma programs are registered and approved by the Ontario Ministry of training, College and universities, which ensures the diploma programs will lead a student towaard a career, not just a job. In the business program, students can study accounting or business office skills. Business office skills gives students the know how to work at a clerical or entry level office position. Letter writing, office politics and common business practices complement the heavy focus on computer technology. For the bean counters of this world, the college's accounting program is gaining in popularity. "There is a strong emphasis on accounting training right now as 50 [recent of accounting professionals are skewed for retirement within the next 10 years," explains Jaffery. Canadian Business College follows the labour market and Conference Board of canada to help them keep a close eye on |
what job markets they should be investing their attention in. Technology diplomas represent the largest component of courses at the college. The school partners with major IT companies such as IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft to deliver their official certification programs. "Technology has found its way into the day-to-day workings of business in every environment," says Jaffery. Technology integration goes beyond office administration positions. retail clerks, medical technologists and even garage mechanics have to be technologically savvy, so the colege offers specialty IT programs that go far beyond Microsoft Office. With heealth care, thw up-and-coming dive of career availabilities, Canadian business Colege has recently added a personal support worker diploma. In four months, students can become a nursing assistant. There are ample jobs in this field, with salaries of $40,000after a year of experience. CErtificate programs are usually three to six months and vary from the newest computer programs such as Flash and Dreamweaver to an Occupational therapist Aid worker.
